I am usually skeptical about Deer Attractants. I have tried many over the years with mixed results, none of which were overwhelmingly convincing. I recently came across Black Widow products on Facebook. I was not familiar with them but their delivery system on their Deer Scrape Beads seemed rather interesting. I reached out to the owner Andrew and asked to try some of his products.
A few days later a package arrived with the Scrape Beads along with some Scent Sticks, Widow Maker Scent Sticks and 3 bottles of attractants – XXX Hot & Ready, Dominator & Scrape Master. The timing could not have been any better as I was heading up to my hunting club the next morning.
The following morning, I was at my stand location long before first light to give me some time to set up a mock scrape. I cleared out a small area and put a liberal amount of scrape beads. I sprayed some scrape master on the area as well & hung some in the Color Coded Scent Sticks. I got myself settled in my stand and about an hour after day break I would spray some Dominator into the air from my stand about every thirty to forty-five minutes. Sure enough around 10am doe came walking into my stand area with her nose in the air. My freezer was running low on venison so when she came within 18 yards I dropped her where she stood with my bow.
A couple of weeks later we were rolling into crossbow season just in time for “Rutâ€. On my way into my hunting area I would spray “XXX Hot & Ready†on the ground as I walked in. Then I hung a couple of scent wicks before I settled in to my stand. Sure enough, late morning a small four point buck walked into my stand area with his nose to the ground following the trail of “XXX Hot & Ready†that I sprayed as I walked to my stand.

When it comes to sharing adventures in the field anything that makes it easier is a must have for me. I recently had great experience with a Phone Skope.
