This has to be one of my all-time favorites. Venison Steak Casalinga. This is a complete meal that you will want to make over and over again. Your hunting camp, family and friends will thank you for it. This creation is made with marinated venison steaks, with sauteed cherry peppers, mushrooms, onions, and oven-roasted potatoes. As a bonus, I added in a little Italian sausage. Why? Because pork is what makes the world go round.
Step 1- Marinate your venison steak in olive oil, 4 cloved of chopped garlic, salt & pepper overnight.
Step 2- Cube up two medium size potatoes and place them in a roasting pan. Place them in the oven at 350.
Step 3- Cook four links of sausage in a frying pan, then set aside.
Step 4- Brown your venison steaks on both sides. The venison steaks cook quickly so be sure not to overcook them.
Step 5- Sauté’ one chopped red onion and your mushrooms. Then add in your cherry peppers.
Step 5- Remove your Potatoes from the oven. Mix them with the sautéed onion, mushroom and cherry peppers.
Step 6- Slice your sausage and add it to the vegetable in the frying pan. Allow them pork flavor to mix with the veggies.
Step 7- Transfer the Vegetables and sausage into a baking pan. Add the venison steaks on top of that.
Step 6 – Place pan back in the oven at 350 for another ten minutes and you are ready to serve.
