The Agnese Nelms Haury Program in Environment and Social Justice (Haury Program) supports Tribal Resilience through collaboration, research, and partnerships that respect tribal knowledge and sovereignty. We are part of the Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR) and collaborate with the Indigenous Resilience Center (IRes) at the University of Arizona (UArizona). The Haury Program’s Tribal Resilience Initiative, begun in 2020, responds to water sustainability challenges faced by Indian Country. The Initiative has two components: support water sustainability for Native and Indigenous communities, and strengthen the Native and Indigenous scholar, student, and staff pathway at UArizona. The Indigenous Resilience Center (IRes) announced in 2021 will position UArizona as a world leader in Indigenous resilience research.
