It’s “Good vs. Gourmet” in an innovative cooking series debuted by Oklahoma Natural Gas that features local chefs creating two versions of a delicious dish on—what else?—a gas range.
“Oklahoma Natural Gas is very excited to launch the online series and website, Good vs. Gourmet,” Oklahoma Natural Gas Energy Efficiency Program Manager Teri Green told American Gas. “We wanted to promote the benefits of cooking with gas by using local chefs to talk about why natural gas is the preferred fuel for cooking.”
As they prepare both at-home and restaurant versions of their recipes, the four featured chefs add a pinch of the personal by sharing why they chose to become a chef.
The series was produced as part of the Oklahoma Natural Gas Energy Efficiency Program, which promotes rebates to homeowners, builders and contractors who purchase and install energy-efficient natural gas appliances and equipment.
“The commercial food service industry is an important customer class, as it is estimated by the Gas Technology Institute’s Fisher-Nickel Group to provide $40 billion in revenue to utilities, which equals approximately 12% of total utility revenue,” Green noted.—Carolyn Kimmel
