Some Korean clients of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland are enjoying their native cuisine, thanks to a $35,000 donation from Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.
“Supporting a great organization like Meals on Wheels enables us to emphasize multicultural outreach while also showing how much we value our relationship with the Korean community in Maryland,” David Vosvick, vice president of human resources at BGE, told American Gas.
The utility’s donation will fund the delivery of three Korean meals weekly to 20 clients for a year.
“We have been a part of central Maryland for more than 200 years and know it’s vital to support our neighbors. By investing our time, effort and money, we are able to give back and help develop a stronger community for everybody,” Vosvick said.
Stephanie Archer-Smith, executive director of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, praised BGE’s involvement, saying, “It is with the far-sightedness of corporate partners like BGE that much goodwill is generated.” — Carolyn Kimmel
