ACUHO-I is now accepting proposals for the 2023 Funded Research Grant program cycle. Proposals will be accepted through April 7, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern). Selected research grant proposals will receive grant funds of up to $7,000. Now entering its eighth year, the program has awarded more than $155,000 to 32 separate studies.
With support from the ACUHO-I Foundation, the ACUHO-I Funded Research Grant program provides financial support for selected research studies. Research projects–which can be submitted by practitioners, faculty, or graduate students–should address one or more of the three research agenda priority areas of public-private partnerships, student outcomes, and student success. In addition, the selection committee will consider studies that focus on one or more of the eight imperative areas identified as part of the ACUHO-I Future of the Profession Task Force.
Definitions of these imperative areas and more information about the Future of the Profession Task Force can be found online.
Information required as part of the Funded Research Grant proposal, as well as other resources for preparing a competitive application, can be found on the Funded Research Grant page of the ACUHO-I website.
Questions should be directed to research@acuho-i.org.
The 2023 ACUHO-I Business Meeting will be held March 30 at 3 p.m. (Eastern) via Zoom. Registration is required.
Each year, as dictated by the ACUHO-I bylaws, the Association hosts a business meeting to share updates and, when necessary, vote on substantive changes. While there is no prominent action required on this year's agenda, it remains a valuable opportunity for members to attend. This year will feature presentations from 2022 President Pam Schreiber, 2023 President Leon McClinton, ACUHO-I CEO Mary DeNiro, and ACUHO-I Finance & Corporate Records Officer Olan Garrett as well as Shana Alston, the 2022 chair of the ACUHO-I Foundation. Leadership Academy Steering Committee Set
Three volunteer leaders have been named to the 2023 Leadership Academy Steering Committee. They will be responsible for leading a unique cohort experience and implementing a curriculum that includes coaching calls, monthly meetings, mentorship experiences, and other intentional professional development opportunities. The steering committee includes co-chairs Brenda Ice, the senior associate dean and senior director of the Office of Residential Life at Brown University, and Dirk Rodricks, the director of student engagement at York University. Tiffany Bromfield, the associate director for residence life and inclusion at SUNY - Buffalo State College, will represent prior cohorts. Bromfield was a member of the Leadership Academy in 2021.
The 2023 ACUHO-I Leadership Academy includes a cohort of nine professionals who will explore topics related to ACUHO-I leadership, the profession, and individual personal development. This is the third cohort for the ACUHO-I Leadership Academy. The program was created as part of the Association's commitment to cultivating diversity and inclusion in the leadership positions on campuses as well as within the Association and Foundation leadership structures.
