National Park College, located approximately 45 minutes southwest of Little Rock, Arkansas, is the fourth-largest community college in the state, with approximately 7,500 students. This past year, through a partnership with Servitas, the campus began providing student housing, with 180 beds in 52 apartment-style units. The three-story Dogwood Hall features fully furnished apartments that include a kitchenette, vinyl wood-plank flooring, and highspeed internet access. Community amenities include study lounges on each floor, package lockers, a free-for-residents on-site laundry room, resident-only parking, and electronic building access with safety camera surveillance.
During the virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony, NPC Board Chair Forrest Spicher remarked, “There is so much excitement about this tremendous event. For the first time in its 47 years of National Park College, we will have students living on campus in a residence hall. Students have expressed the need and we have answered and have begun the process to meet their expectations with safe, on-campus, affordable housing. . . . Dogwood Hall, together with our continually transforming campus, will have a profound impact on the local economic development and student success.”
