worldwide lifeline
As the travel rebound continues, the appetite for exploring the world is increasing. Gliding along the canals of Venice in a gondola, skiing in the Rockies or the Alps, or even soaking up the sun on the beach at Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro were historically go-to vacation activities. Now, however, tourists have a growing enthusiasm for places beyond the traditional, some of which are less accessible and a little riskier, making Worldwide Lifeline—and its expanded list of services—an essential complement to your AAA membership.
Travelers are planning multiple trips in a year in an effort to catch up on lost vacation opportunities due to the pandemic. They are booking traditional cruise and land packages, but the demand for African safaris, hiking trips, camping excursions and motorcycle tours has jumped. Vacationers’ requests for authentic experiences in an increasingly globalized and connected world also are on the rise. And with these kinds of getaways comes a need for expanded traveler protections.
As a AAA Member, you already know that if you have a roadside breakdown, you don’t call your auto insurance company: you call AAA. The same is true when you need emergency assistance while traveling—you don't call an insurance company; you call experts for immediate help.

Because travelers are planning more trips and more experiences in more places, they are also looking for the guarantee that emergency help is accessible, especially if they become seriously ill or injured in the United States or elsewhere in the world.
Worldwide emergency field rescue, medical evacuation, medical advisory services, telehealth access, lost luggage, and visa and passport assistance are the basics that travelers want.
Then there are the extra services that saavy travelers demand, like getting a loved one to your hospital and home with you following a medical emergency, a guarantee of payment for medical expenses during an emergency, and transporting your vehicle and pet home if your medical condition prevents you from doing so.
AAA Members can get those core protections, extra benefits and emergency services wherever* you are. No claim forms. No deductible.
How? By purchasing a Worldwide Lifeline™ membership, which provides airborne or ground emergency rescue and medical evacuation services directly to you, so you can be rushed to safety domestically and around the world for free.

Membership in the program isn’t only for medical issues, however. Worldwide Lifeline™ provides an array of services and features to keep you as healthy, safe and informed as possible with destination reports, event alerts, and information about destination healthcare, safety, entry, and immunization requirements. It provides services to help you locate translation assistance and legal resources whenever you’re more than 100 miles from home.
New Worldwide Lifeline™ benefits, born from popular demand, include pet and vehicle retrieval. If either (or both) are left behind due to the emergency, the program will coordinate their return. Similarly, if you’re traveling with a pet and your emergency illness or injury prevents you from caring for them, then Worldwide Lifeline™ will provide temporary shelter and transportation home, as needed.
Or, if you or your traveling companion is unable to drive your vehicle home following your medical evacuation, your membership will assist in you car’s return. The program also transports a loved one to your hospital and back home with you. Finally, it also assists in the retrieval of lost luggage.
No one wants to think about what could go wrong during a vacation. But when “Oh, wow!” turns to “Oh, no!” you want to be protected. Worldwide Lifeline™ helps you get that peace of mind.
AAA/Auto Club Group partnered with Global Rescue, the world’s leading provider of medical evacuation services, to introduce Worldwide Lifeline™ exclusively for AAA Members. Individual memberships cost $139 annually. A family membership is $169 and includes a couple, plus up to six dependents up to age 26.
