WHAT SOUTHERNERS ARE BUZZING ABOUT
And They’re Off! Each year, 20 horses compete in the historic race.
THE ANNUAL Run for the Roses is often described as one giant party, but this year’s bash is gearing up to be one of the biggest yet. On Saturday, May 4, the 150th Kentucky Derby will bring a variety of events and new ways to participate in the beloved Louisville tradition. Churchill Downs is giving attendees a chance to get closer to the action than ever before thanks to enhanced viewing areas, including the Woodford Reserve Paddock Club & Enclosure (a luxe space where guests can watch the race railside and peek into stalls) and Spires Terrace & Suites (located under the Twin Spires and off ering 360-degree vistas of the paddock and track). The Kentucky Derby Museum is welcoming exhibits featuring the Kentucky Derby Festival and legendary long shots as well as a major upgrade to the Riders Up jockey simulation. The museum will also host a ball, Old Forester dinner, and hat show plus exclusive tours of Churchill Downs that take visitors beyond the usual track experience to see horses as they train.
If you’re throwing a watch party at home, enlist the help of Brackish for your race-day look.
