Avalon Waterways and Globus Break New Ground in 2025
Both Avalon Waterways and Globus are poised for a banner year in 2025, introducing exciting new offerings that promise to redefine travel experiences for adventurers around the globe.
Avalon Waterways is already on track to break booking records next year, with sales up 50% compared to 2024. Leading this growth are itineraries in France and Portugal, where Avalon has expanded its river cruise offerings. Highlights include the debut of the “Bonjour Bordeaux: Châteaux, Wineries & Charming Villages†cruise, a week-long journey through Bordeaux’s famed wine regions. This itinerary can be combined with others along the Seine, Saône, Rhône, and Rhine Rivers for a more comprehensive European experience. Additionally, Avalon’s new Douro River cruise in Portugal continues to gain momentum after a highly successful 2024 debut.
Travelers are also flocking to Avalon’s off-season and festive cruises. With an 88% increase in off-season offerings since 2023, winter cruises like “Christmas in Alsace & Germany†and “Christmas on the Danube†are selling out fast. Avalon’s popular “Active & Discovery†itineraries, which combine adventure with cultural immersion, are also drawing attention, offering travelers unique opportunities to engage in local activities such as cooking classes or bike tours.

Meanwhile, Globus is going small in a big way with its new Small Group Discovery tours. Launching more than 50 tours globally in 2025, Globus is catering to travelers seeking intimate, immersive experiences. These tours, designed specifically for smaller groups, offer an average group size of 15 to 18 guests. This allows for more personalized experiences, exclusive access, and unique accommodations. Globus’ Small Group Discovery tours span Europe, North America, and exotic locations like South America, Africa, Asia, and the South Pacific. From staying in a former monastery in Italy to “glamping†in Yellowstone, these tours feature unique moments designed to create unforgettable memories. Popular itineraries include “Extraordinary England & Scotland,†“Inspiring Iceland,†“Majestic Montana & Yellowstone,†and “A Classic Safari†in Kenya.
