[ON LOCATION] LAUREL HERMAN
Copenhagen is a terrific opportunity for incentive groups. This walkable, historic and uber-modern capital city offers culture, entertainment and stellar culinary options. Plus, English is widely spoken and the local population is diverse and friendly.
Opened in 1897, this elegant museum is available for private art viewings as well as events for up to 450 people in the Winter Garden and Cafe area. There are over 10,000 works of antiquities from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome plus 19th-century French and Danish paintings. Featuring a stunning domed ceiling, the Winter Garden is available year-round for receptions.
No visit to Copenhagen should be without the experience of sampling smorrebrod (an open- faced sandwich) at this eatery, which is located on the water and is available for a buyout for up to 60 persons. Don’t miss the smorrebrod with pan-fried plaice, the local fish on Danish dark bread. Just delectable. Top it off with a local Danish beer.
You don’t have to be a child to enjoy this amusement park that is loaded with a magical atmosphere for the young at heart and 60 varied restaurants (Figaro and Kilden are popular with groups), offering an opportunity for every palate. The Tivoli Food Hall is a fun experience with 15 different stands. Tivoli was founded in 1843 and served as a creative inspiration for Walt Disney when he visited. We all know how that turned out!
A wonderful way to see many of Copenhagen’s key sights, including its neighborhoods, is by water. Book a private boat or two (each holds over 100 persons) to sail through the waterways and canals with a private live guide. We feasted our eyes on the magnificent Christiansborg Palace, Opera House and trendy neighborhoods like Christianshavn. We even passed by the Little Mermaid sculpture, an iconic symbol of Copenhagen.
On offer is a popular guided walking tour with tales and tastings of Danish craft beers. The tour affords groups the opportunity to experience Copenhagen while getting an introduction to local craft beers. Groups of 15 persons minimum per each and multiple guides can be arranged for at least 600 attendees (if not more).
