Peek backstage with Broadway’s Genie: “Disney Drop-In,” the award-winning Disney Vacation Club series of unscripted videos filmed in interesting Disney places with equally interesting Disney people, recently debuted a new, fast-paced episode (with a runtime less than 3 minutes) that peels back the curtain at Disney’s historic New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City with Disney on Broadway star Michael James Scott, the record-breaking Genie in Aladdin. As the smash-hit production celebrates its milestone 10th anniversary in 2024, cameras follow Michael backstage while he prepares for a show. Our friends at Disney on Broadway filmed this extraordinary peek behind the scenes as part of a special presentation aboard this year’s Member Cruise, and the Disney Files staff is thrilled to now share it with more Members on YouTube. Start your beach day with food and friends: Disney’s Vero Beach Resort once again offers a weekly character breakfast, with Goofy and Pluto serving up hugs and high fives on Saturday mornings in the resort’s Wind & Waves Grill. The breakfast itself begins with a “pastry boat” of mini pastries accompanied by a mixed berry compote and continues with entrée options ranging from a Treasure Omelet (named with a nod to Florida's "Treasure Coast," and filled with cheddar cheese, ham, bell peppers and onions) to a decadent Bananas Foster French Toast (crafted with fluffy challah bread and drizzled with bananas foster sauce). The breakfast takes place on Saturdays only from 8 a.m.-noon, and reservations are strongly suggested
While new Disney Vacation Club Resorts, from The Villas at Disneyland Hotel to The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, may generate our magical community’s buzziest of buzz, they aren’t the only new developments popping up around the neighborhood. This spring at Walt Disney World Resort, for example, marked the debut of Gateway to Discovery – A Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center in the heart of Disney Springs. And a few months later at Disneyland Resort, Golden Vine House – A Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center opened at the heart of Disney California Adventure Park. Each Welcome Home Center is open to Members and guests alike, showcasing the breadth of experiences available through the magic of Membership. The new location in California features the immersive “Magical Door” digital experience, scale models of featured resorts (and a buzz-worthy cruise ship), windows to the park’s parade route (with music synced inside), an outdoor patio space (where you’ll find a Disney Vacation Club-commissioned mural, as well as an interactive Mickey Mouse statue activated by MagicBand+), and a flex space designed to host everything from guest sales presentations to Member special events.
Trip tip: While supplies last, visitors to Golden Vine House can pick up a complimentary, commemorative work of art custom created for Disney Vacation Club by Disney Fine Artist Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse. Seen above, the artwork finds Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and our Golden Vine House in the idyllic setting of California’s Wine Country.
