Gary Durbin of Houston and Mina Hardin of Fort Worth both recently won their respective statewide senior amateur championships for a third time.
Durbin was the first to accomplish the impressive feat in early September when he shot 67-71-72 (-3) at Amarillo Country Club to capture the 86th Texas Senior Amateur. Durbin notched his first Texas Senior Amateur title in 2019 at Deerwood Club in Kingwood and his second in 2021 at Westwood Golf Club in Houston.
Hardin completed her hat trick a few weeks later when she won the 34th Women’s Senior Stroke Play at Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo with rounds of 74-75-74 (+7). Hardin claimed her first Women’s Senior Stroke Play at Elkins Lake Country Club in Huntsville in 2013, a year after she was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. She would go on to secure her second title in 2021 at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco.
The TGA extends its heartiest congratulations to Gary and Mina on achieving the latest milestones in their remarkable competitive careers.
