A late-May survey conducted by the National Golf Foundation saw a major uptick between April 11 and May 28 for core golfers who reported they’ve “played golf at least once in the past couple of weeks.†Compared to only 38% of respondents who reported playing golf in the past two weeks in early April, the recent poll showed 86% of core golfers said they’d put a tee in the ground within the past two weeks by May 28. The NGF’s monthly national study of golf participation also recently showed a spike in rounds played by golfers who self-identify as “beginners.†Encouraging signs!
