Big NumberT his was Ryan Baca’s 72-hole winning stroke play total in 2003 at the 94th Texas Amateur. It was the last time the championship was played at Dallas Athletic Club, site of this month’s 110th Texas Amateur. Baca’s four-day total got him to 11-under par, which was good enough to win his second consecutive Texas Amateur. Baca also won the 93th Texas Amateur at Horseshoe Bay. No player since has successfully defended his title.
