Located in the bucolic East Texas town of Lufkin, the championship golf course at Crown Colony Country Club is set to welcome TGA Members from across the state. Whether you’re a scratch golfer, a beginner or anywhere in between, the TGA’s Fun Golf Series presented by PGA TOUR Superstore is excited to offer a low-stress recreation golf outing at one of the best private courses in Texas.

Originally designed in 1979 by renowned golf course architects Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, the beautiful and challenging layout features gently rolling terrain, natural water features and breathtaking scenery provided by the towering trees of the legendary Piney Woods region. In 2020, the Dallas Morning News ranked Crown Colony as the 61st best overall golf course in Texas.
Its decorated history includes hosting some of the biggest amateur championships in the state. Since 1982, nine TGA Major Championships have been played at Crown Colony. These include the 1982 and 1988 Texas Amateur, 1989 and 2007 Women’s Texas Amateur, 1994 Texas Mid-Amateur, 1983 Texas Senior Amateur, 2012 and 2017 Texas Four-Ball and the 2020 Women’s Stroke Play Championship.
“Our TGA Members love playing at Crown Colony,” TGA Outreach and Foundation Manager Victoria Uresti said. “The course features narrow tree-lined fairways which makes it a fun challenge from any distance. We’re excited to travel back to Lufkin for another TGA Play Day.”
The format for the event is two-person 6/6/6. It consists of playing best ball for six holes, playing a scramble for six holes and playing alternate shot for six holes. This format was designed specifically for our players. It’s a great chance to team up with a family member or friend and play various formats in one round of golf.
All TGA Play Days are recreation focused. They do not require anyone to play in the competition. If you wish, you can elect to not turn in a scorecard and just enjoy your day at Crown Colony.

Cost: $90 for Members; $100 for Non-Members
