In previous reports, I have highlighted the numerous innovative and valuable educational programs LUGPA has introduced to members. As part of LUGPA’s mission to preserve and advance the independent practice of urology, our association continues to deliver outstanding legislative, regulatory, and practice management results, driven by member feedback.
Recent member feedback from a post-meeting survey demonstrates that LUGPA practices want more of the valuable clinical and business education provided at the annual and regional LUGPA meetings. However, in many cases, some members have expressed difficulty with travel commitments and desire to share the educational information with other clinicians and administrators within their group.
In response to our members’ requests, LUGPA is bringing the meeting to urology practices with the implementation of a new service—LUGPA Onsite. Convenient, transformative programs to take your practice to the next level in cancer care excellence.
LUGPA Onsite is a urology group’s unique, practice-specific, informational meeting delivered to members’ practice locations. LUGPA Onsite offers convenient, customized, in-office guidance and solutions focused to support the individual practice’s needs. LUGPA Onsite allows LUGPA member practices to collaborate with clinical and business experts, onsite, to design practice-specific solutions, ensuring that the urology practice’s goals are achieved.
During LUGPA Onsite educational sessions, participating member practices should include all key stakeholders: physicians, nurses, and administrators, who then can discuss and create action plans addressing the top issues affecting their practice including: group culture and decision making; expanding service lines; optimizing physician compensation; expanding the roles of APPs to improve clinic workflow; physician and administrator leadership development; optimizing group purchasing arrangements; and additional topics specific to an individual group’s needs. These topics will be reviewed during the LUGPA Onsite program along with state-of-the-art presentations featuring bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer disease evaluation and management, specifically addressing the goals for establishing an advanced GU Cancer Center of Excellence. For more information on how to schedule LUGPA Onsite educational programs for your practice, contact Steven Rauchenecker at steven@wjweiser.com.
Another LUGPA-initiated program that conveniently delivers critical clinical and business education to members—streaming online—is LUGPA Virtual Cross-fire Series. The program, launched in 2017, is a live, virtual video discussion that offers interactive capabilities such as audience polling and real-time Q&A, while creating an engaging experience between expert faculty and online attendee audiences.
In 2018, the LUGPA Virtual Crossfire program, which is produced in conjunction with PlatformQ Health, will feature the following programs: Creating Centers of Excellence for Overactive Bladder, Exploring and Advancing Ever-changing Men’s Health Topics, Effectively Creating Partnerships and Collaborations, Regional Differences in Urology Practices, and Mastering MACRA, as well as other timely subjects that affect the success of urology practices. LUGPA will be providing details on upcoming LUGPA Virtual Crossfire programs, inclusive of participating faculty, along with specific dates and times, in future member communications.
View both new LUGPA Virtual Crossfire Series programs and those archived from 2017 at lugpa.org. LUGPA has made all programs available for on-demand viewing. Previous LUGPA Virtual Crossfire programs include Developing an Effective, Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinic; Future of Urology Practices: Independent, Hospital-Owned or Private Equity?; and Developing a Bladder Cancer Clinic of Excellence.
I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the LUGPA Board of Directors and LUGPA Committee members for contributing their time, expertise, and excellence to both LUGPA Onsite and LUGPA Virtual Crossfire Series programs. Thank you, too, to all LUGPA members for your continued support. As always, l encourage and value your input and feedback.
