Why not involve the children in your school, nursery or group like Brownies or Cubs in the School Groups Competition? To enter, each group needs six 1 litre pots containing 5 bulbs each of dwarf daffodils such as Tete-a-Tete or Jetfire. You need to get planting them this month to be ready for next year's Show. Email schoolspringshow@rchs.co.uk to register your group for entry.
Scotland in autumn, when our tree-lined glens burst into a blaze of colour, is arguably when it is at its most striking. From Galloway Forest Park in the south, to Weisdale in Shetland, woodlands cover around 17% of our land. Now is the time to discover them during the Scottish Tree Festival, taking place from 28th September – 1st December. Organised by Discover Scottish Gardens, the festival has inspired participation from many gardens across Scotland with nearly 50 events taking place this year. So get out and enjoy our trees this autumn – it’s great for body, mind and spirit!
Monthly talks are held on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in Clarkston Halls, G76 8NE and are open to non-members. Any questions about the lectures, please phone Fergus Cumming on 0141 620 1435.
