An annual treat which has become a welcome fixture in the calendar for those of us who enjoy gardening is Scone Palace Garden Fair, taking place this year on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May. The Scottish Gardeners’ Forum will be there as usual with the popular Pallet Garden & Planter Challenge.
If you are not already one of our regular participants in the Pallet Garden & Planter Challenge, why not think about indulging your creative flair and submitting an entry?
As well as individual entries, the Challenge is well suited for school and community groups to take part, so please reach out to others in your community, help them to join in and feel the benefits of creative gardening - remember that our next crop of gardeners need as much nurturing as our plants.
Entries are FREE and are already being registered for this year including some welcome newcomers, but there’s plenty of room for more of your wonderfully innovative plant displays which can feature a design in a pallet or planter about your locality, your local group, a topical subject, a garden or world theme, or whatever is on your mind.
The judges will award gold, silver, and bronze rosettes to the displays as well as a people’s choice prize and it really is an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for everyone who takes part.
The Scottish Gardeners’ Forum organisers look forward to meeting and greeting many of you with your plant displays in the beautiful grounds of Scone Palace amidst the bustle of the Fair with its numerous gardening attractions which includes something for all ages at the end of May.
Instructions and entry forms for the P&P Challenge are available on the website. Further enquiries about the Challenge can be emailed to northeast@scottishgardenersforum.org.uk or call Tom Campbell 07962 020397.
