The MGA Foundation’s Adaptive Golf Program kicked off its 2025 clinic schedule with an eight-week clinic series with The Arc Westchester, which supports children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities.
The clinic wrapped up in late March and featured two groups from Arc that alternated weeks at Golfzon Social in Scarsdale. The series expanded on the partnership formed in the first year of the MGA’s adaptive program in 2024, when Arc participated in three clinics.
“Kicking off 2025 with our Arc of Westchester series set the tone perfectly,” says MGA adaptive golf manager Ryan Kayton. “It’s a great example of what adaptive golf is all about: community, consistency, and confidence.”
Each session featured three to five groups of four to six participants, allowing everyone to receive personal teaching from instructors. Each week the participants built on previous experiences, and by the end of the eight weeks, everyone saw improvement.
“It is amazing for the MGA to run these clinics for us,” says Barry Clarke, executive director of The Arc Westchester Foundation. “I know the participants really enjoy it. The MGA has the gratitude of The Arc Westchester for putting on these clinics.”
As the adaptive program enters its second year, it continues to grow throughout the Met Area. Last year, the program conducted 45 clinics and is already on pace to finish 2025 with 55 clinics throughout Connecticut, Westchester, New Jersey, and Long Island. This includes another clinic with Arc in September.
