project & infrastructure finance awards
Strength in the energy and power sector thrust Stocche Forbes to the top of the pile for LatinFinance’s Project & Infrastructure Finance Law Firm of the Year for Brazil.
The firm returns to the top spot three years after it last won, backed by a strong pipeline of deals over the review period that included working on the Bond of the Year wining transaction, the MV24 FPOS $1.1 billion refinancing project. The floating production, storage and offloading unit is a major component of Brazil’s oil and gas sector.
At a time when the state-owned energy firm Petrobras is selling off assets and consolidating, the Brazilian energy sector is awash in deals, along with help from state development bank, BNDES.
In addition to the MV24 FPOS transaction, Stocche Forbes was also involved with a host of high profile deals, that while they may not have been recognized this year, speak to the depth of its bench.
Prior to the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America, the firm was involved in the $1.75 billion Electrobras bond transaction in February.
The firm participated in the TAG pipelines acquisition financing last year, which itself was recognize as the LatinFinance Deals of the Year Cross Border M&A 2019 transaction of the year.
