Dear Ross S. Sterling HS Class of 2023,
Thirteen years has flown by and now you have reached the pinnacle of your K-12 experience. Seeing your smiling faces as you walk through the halls, cheering you on at your games and performances, relishing in your successes and comforting you when you needed it the most has been one of the highlights of my life.
As you contemplate on your next journey; whether it be college, career, the military or even a “break year,” know that you will always have the full support of your Sterling Ranger family. Take this time to reflect on the experiences you gained throughout your time in the district and use them to project you forward towards a more successful future.
One of my favorite musicians is Frank Sinatra. I’m sure many of you have probably never heard of Frank Sinatra, but he is arguably one of the greatest musicians of all time. He was a young man, born to immigrant parents, from very humble beginnings that took what life gave him and made magic. That is exactly how I feel about all of you. One of my favorite songs by Sinatra is entitled, “My Way.” There are so many gems that he included in this song, but it is the words he wrote in the third verse that not only resonate with my life, but I’m sure will resonate with yours as you embark upon this critical journey in your lives. “Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew when I bit off more than I could chew, but through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all, and I stood tall and did it my way.” As students, you have faced some challenges that could have easily derailed you, but instead of retreating, you took the bull by the horns and pushed through. That is what being a GIANT is all about.
On behalf of your Ross S. Sterling High School family, we congratulate you on this major milestone and wish you the best that life has to offer. You have completed this race and now you are ready to tackle the next hurdle. It has truly been an honor to serve as your principal and I will sincerely miss you all.
Best Wishes,
Nathan Chaddick, Principal
