Dear Robert E. Lee HS Graduates,
These past nine years as your superintendent have truly been an honor and a blessing. To watch you grow and mature into young adults, ready to tackle the world, makes my heart swell with pride. You have faced adversity head on and made those tests your TESTimony. Whether you’ve been with us for the entire 13 years or a portion of your educational career, we are thankful that you and your family chose Goose Creek CISD to be your home. You made us better, and we are eternally grateful for that.
As you exit the district as a student, you are now entering into a new phase as a member of our Giant alumni family. But don’t let graduation be your last stop with the district. The doors will always be open for you, and we hope that you will consider us when you are seeking employment in the near future.
Michael Phelps, Olympic gold medalist, once said, “If you want to be the best, you have to do things other people aren’t willing to do.” Steve Jobs did it with Apple. Michael Jordan did it with basketball. Taylor Swift did it with music. Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale did it with the furniture industry, and you can too! Don’t settle for doing the bare minimum. Always go above and beyond what is expected. These are the people that get noticed. These are the people that make a difference in our world. I am confident that you can be the difference that our world needs today!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and our nearly 4,000 district employees, we congratulate you on reaching this momentous milestone. I know that this is just one of many that you will encounter through your journey to adulthood. Relish this time with your friends and family, reflect on your time in the district and remember that you will always be a GCCISD giant.
Good luck and you will be missed!
Best wishes,
Dr. Randal O'Brien
GCCISD Superintendent of Schools
