FootJoy lays claim to being the No. 1 golf shoe on the PGA Tour for 80 consecutive years, and it continues the trend with its updated HyperFlex line and a fourth-edition Premier Series Players Championship collaboration with street fashion designer Jon Buscemi.
The new HyperFlex ($180) is designed for comfort, traction and performance, featuring a new outsole PowerPlate that transfers energy to the ground to maximize speed while resisting any twisting through the golf swing. Its spiral-wound knit technology has a durable, easy-to-clean coating and its StratoFoam cushioning helps absorb shock while maximizing energy return to reduce foot fatigue.
A carbon fiber PowerPlate maximizes resistance to rotational swing forces in a HyperFlex Carbon model ($225) available in April.
Justin Thomas has transitioned to the new HyperFlex. “I’ve worn a classic, structured shoe for pretty much my entire career – Classics, Icon, Premiere, etc. – but I had to make a switch when I tried this HyperFlex,” Thomas said. “This shoe is perfect – super comfortable and flexible in the right areas, but also gives me all the support I need to make a strong, confident move on the ball.”
FootJoy’s fourth annual collab with Buscemi includes two “next level” limited-edition “Player’s” shoes for both on and off the course – the Premiere Series Field LX and Court LE.
“A classic rose quartz and cream with the forever classic navy and red grosgrain taping, this is truly another heirloom added to the shoe collection,” Buscemi said.
The FJ by Jon Buscemi Premiere Series Field LX uses a buttery-soft leather, enriched with intricate gold detailing and set atop a performance golf outsole. It debuted at the Players on the feet of Will Zalatoris, Cameron Young, Adam Scott, Billy Horschel and more.
The Court LE is a complementary lifestyle option in the same rose-gold hue.
