Ping’s G340 LST 3-wood unlocks more speed and distance through multi-material technology and proven innovations.
The low-spinning, tour-style design produces on average 7 yards more distance by combining a 2041 Beta-Ti face, Ti 8-1-1 body and 80-gram tungsten sole plate to position the center of gravity lower and further back for faster ball speeds with reduced spin.
“The lightweight properties of titanium and the density of tungsten open a lot of possibilities to improve performance,” said John K. Solheim, Ping CEO and president. “The results are phenomenal. The G430 LST 3-wood goes forever and sounds amazing. It’s already in the bags of tour players around the world. We look forward to getting the new fairway wood in the hands of golfers who want the best of multi-material technology.”
The variable-thickness, high-strength titanium face wraps into the crown and sole of the lightweight titanium body, generating more flexing for faster ball speed and higher launch for greater distance.
The low-profile, 169cc head also benefits from “Spinsistency,” a proven Ping clubface innovation engineered with a variable roll radius to improve performance across the face (especially on shots hit low on the face) by reducing spin for more distance. A tighter bulge radius increases ball speed and minimizes off-line dispersion.
The G430 LST 3-wood ($600) is engineered with an eight-layer composite Carbonfly Wrap crown, which saves approximately 5.5 grams compared to a titanium crown, to help maximize ball speed, resulting in higher, longer carries. The discretionary weight is reallocated to achieve the lower CG.
