Johnnie-O has been outfitting golfers with its West Coast apparel for two decades, and now it offers an accessory that fits right in with the brand – sunglasses.
“We created eyewear with the same DNA as our apparel – premium quality with that perfect East Coast-West Coast balance,” said founder and CEO John O’Donnell, who called eyewear “the natural next step” for the Johnnie-O brand.
Partnering with Zeiss for premium lenses, Johnnie-O’s debut line of sunglasses is designed for performance and style incorporating high-quality features like spring hinges, nose pad grips and no-slip fit on the sides.
The Cypress ($128) is a sporty silhouette made with a flexible, lightweight molded frame that can bend without breaking. The polarized model in classic black offers 100 percent UV protection and works best for wearers who have to deal with the glare off of water at the beach or on a boat. The non-polarized model in tortoise works well for anyone who frequently checks the phone or screens.
The Malibu ($128) is notable for its classic, 1960s-inspired shape and comes in four colors – tortoise, light beige, silver, and black. It also offers 100 percent UV protection but its lenses aren’t polarized, working perfectly for everyday life and looking at your phone.
