Wyndham Clark was a guest at Oakmont (“Divot: Fit to be tied,” June 23, GGP). His behavior was inexcusable under any circumstances; it is part of a developing pattern of problematic behavior, and his non-apology was an insult to his hosts and the golfing public. To let him off the hook with the “we’ve all been there” baloney that made up the bulk of the piece is to encourage future entitled childishness by Clark – and maybe others.
Mr. Clark needs to learn that he can’t just wave a hand and “move on.” There should be a price to pay that includes a lengthy suspension, payment for (and involvement in) repairs to the locker room, and anger management counseling. This can’t be allowed to go unanswered.

It is obvious to this fan that TV is very important to golf’s health. Toptracer technology has greatly helped the viewing experience. I, and a number of friends, think another tech addition would help a lot. It is very difficult, often impossible, to see the ball after it lands on the green. I assume this could be fixed with the same tech used on drives. Let’s get this ball rolling (visually).
