A special thanks to you and your writers for the wonderful Global Golf Post issue that summarized the terrific Masters and its exciting finish (“Rory, Rory Hallelujah!,” April 14, GGP). That final nine and playoff had me, and so many I am sure, on the edge of our seats.

Jacobsen was the recipient of the USGA’s 2025 Joe Dey Award for volunteer service to the game.
Beautifully written (“Rory’s momentous achievement a marvel,” April 14, GGP). Perfect explanation of why we love following Rory. Jordan [Spieth] has the same appeal of making us exhilarated and exasperated.
Jim Kaat
Zeeland, Michigan
Kaat is a baseball Hall of Famer who pitched in the major leagues from 1959-1983.
Thanks to you we are now “privy to that little conversation” between Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose on the 18th green (“Rory’s momentous achievement a marvel,” April 14, GGP). Having won the first major, Rory is now the only golfer who has a chance to win the 2025 Grand Slam.
Arthur McAra
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
What a wonderfully written article (“Rory’s momentous achievement a marvel,” April 14, GGP). I think you conveyed the mood in a very moving way. Well done, sir!

… by the Great John Hopkins (“Rory’s momentous achievement a marvel,” April 14, GGP). Your writing reminds me so much of the work by the great Bernard Darwin.

I cannot believe the stuffy, uptight Masters that doesn’t allow running, reviews players’ clothing scripts, throws out a player’s coach for wearing shorts on the range, and insists on a certain referenced vocabulary (patrons, tournament practice area, second nine) has no problem with a player urinating in public on the course (“Divot: Comic relief,” April 14, GGP). What if a patron did this? Furthermore, as a female who plays 175-plus rounds of golf a year, many with men, it would have gone a long way for the Masters’ powers that be to come out and make a statement against this behavior. José Luis Ballester should have been DQ’d or forced to withdraw.
