Since the introduction of the Vokey Design SM10 line, the tour-proven WedgeWorks low-bounce K and L grinds are available in 58- and 60-degree lob wedges on Vokey.com.
The K-grind lob wedges ($225) with 6 degrees of bounce provide the versatility required to open the face and hit higher, softer shots off tight lies around the green while offering forgiveness out of the bunker due to the grind’s sole width.
“Several players preferred the K grind sole but were seeking a lower-bounce version,” said Bob Vokey, master craftsman. “As a result, we crafted a sole with 6 degrees of effective bounce, while maintaining the wide camber that makes the K design so effective for a wide variety of players.”
The L-grind lob wedges ($225) with 4 degrees of bounce are a common choice for players who want a low-bounce option with heel, toe and trailing-edge relief. Its leading edge sits close to the ground and works well on tight or firm lies, in a square or open position, and offers slightly more protection from excessive digging.
“It’s really the perfect balance of I want versatility, but I also want a little forgiveness to go with it,” said Aaron Dill, Vokey’s tour representative. “The forward bounce on the L helps reduce dig, but players are still able to open it up and slide under the ball easily. It’s a great option for players looking for a little bit less bounce.”
