TaylorMade enhances its P-Series family with two new utility irons – the P-UDI and the P-DHY – designed for piercing performance and maximum versatility to offer golfers of all skill levels the ability to choose their flight and optimize the top end of their bag.
The P-UDI is intended for better players while the P-DHY is the most forgiving iron in the TaylorMade family intended for higher-handicap players.
“P-UDI is an easy pair for players that currently play P-Series product and P-DHY is an extremely forgiving option for players of all skill levels,” said Matt Bovee, TaylorMade’s director of product creation, iron and wedge. “It is a natural fit to give these players the performance in this category that they are looking for.”
Both the P-UDI and P-DHY ($249.99 each) feature a contemporary design with a pearl satin finish and mirror black ridge across the middle. The P-UDI has a moderate sole width, but narrower than the more forgiving P-DHY.
P-UDI has a traditional iron shape with a raised face height, slimmer topline and less offset than previous TaylorMade UDI products, with a hint of the backbar from address to inspire confidence. Despite being more compact, it is still extremely forgiving, with the center of gravity right behind center face to create a more penetrating mid-to-low ball flight.
P-DHY has a slightly taller toe height, with more backbar visible from address and a lower face profile to help drive center of gravity low in the clubhead for easier mid-to-high ball flight launch. The wider sole aids in additional forgiveness through the turf while providing versatility.
Both irons come in right- and left-handed options. Loft offerings for P-UDI are 2-17° degrees, 3-20 degrees, 4-22 degrees, and P-DHY are 2-18 degrees, 3-20 degrees and 4-22 degrees.
