Scotty Cameron’s Phantom mallet putter family introduces 10 redesigned models with four unique shapes, multiple neck/shaft configurations and improved sound and feel.
Phantom’s head shapes have been engineered to optimize alignment and targeting, helping players easily and correctly line up the putter at address. The multi-material face and body construction along with dual-milled face provide a more rigid head for increased stability while offering a softer consistent sound and feel off the face.
“We’ve … designed the new Phantoms to give players useful, intuitive alignment features, not only with the sight dots and lines visible at address, but also with the overall shape of each model,” Cameron said. “Every aspect of the putter design is working together. Every angle has been refined to accentuate a down-the-line view, so the player has a clear and confident look at every putt.”
The Phantom line – which features 5, 5.5, 5s, 7, 7.5, 9, 9.5, 11 and 11.5 ($449) as well as an 11 Long Design – has been redesigned to enhance alignment, balance center of gravity (CG) depth and optimize moment of inertia (MOI). The multiple neck/shaft configurations include low-bend, mid-bend, straight shaft or jet neck to offer flexibility to suit any player.
Crafted specifically at 38 inches with a stiffer, custom shaft and heavier head using tungsten sole weights, the new Phantom 11 Long Design ($499) is designed to help quiet the hands and engage the shoulders for enhanced stability in the putting stroke. The increase in overall length and weight, coupled with a heavier, longer grip, keeps the putter in balance, while the entire stroke is slowed down.
