Ping expanded its G430 lineup with the new Max 10K driver, pushing the limits of MOI further than it ever has to create its straightest and most forgiving driver for golfers who fight the big miss.
It's called Max 10K because it eclipses the 10,000 grams-per-square centimeter combined MOI threshold. For driver aficionados, this is huge – literally. It looks noticeably larger at address than the standard G430 Max, touching USGA size limits in every direction while remaining 460cc.
The large head profile includes a fixed 28-gram backweight and a Carbonfly Wrap crown, creating a lower center of gravity to help G430 Max 10K ($599.99) launch the ball higher with less spin for consistently longer and straighter results, with a 16-percent smaller down-range dispersion while maintaining ball speed. The larger profile also allows for a thinner face.
“It’s pretty shocking how forgiving it is,” PGA Tour pro Sahith Theegala said.
“You’re going to hit center-strike launching conditions across a wider part of that face,” said Kenton Oates, Ping’s senior player development manager.
