The Ryder Cup comes around only every two years, but with TaylorMade’s special-edition Stealth 2 drivers you can show your true colors long after the competition is decided next weekend in Rome.
As the U.S. and Europe prepare to meet in the 44th Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf Club on September 29-October 1, TaylorMade introduces the Stealth 2 Teams Edition drivers. One is draped in the colors of the American flag, and the other sports the blue and gold of Europe.
The special-edition drivers ($600) showcase the technology of the Stealth 2, including the re-imagined 60X Carbon Twist Face – one face proudly bearing the unmistakable mark of the USA in red while the other showcasing Europe’s 12 gold stars set against a blue background.
Each of the carbon soles has undergone a redesign as well to capture the spirit of each team. The U.S. model offers a star-studded rendition of the red, white, and blue, while the European model combines vibrant blues with intricate golden accents.
The Stealth 2’s new face design features an advanced version of Inverted Cone Technology (ICT), which helps maintain ball speed on off-center strikes and increase forgiveness. It weighs 24 grams – 2 grams lighter than the original Stealth face – and is designed to have an expanded COR area for a larger sweet spot.
The driver’s face is encased by a polyurethane cover featuring “revolutionary nanotexture technology” that can enhance launch and spin for greater distance.
The special edition also includes a Fujikura Ventus Red 5 (USA) or Blue 5 (Europe) shaft and matching team Golf Pride MCC grips.
