Callaway’s Jaws Raw wedges ($180) – which feature what the company calls the most aggressive grooves in golf and a raw face to further enhance spin – have extended the line options to include new sole grinds, full-face grooves, tungsten technology and high-toe models.
Grooves – with a 37-degree wall angle to elevate the edge sharpness – extend across the entire face in lob wedges with Z, standard S and wide-sole W grinds, offering groove-to-ball contact on every shot. The full-face grooves give players more confidence and versatility in the short game.
The Jaws Raw Full Toe model is designed to inspire confidence at address, providing more face area with an enhanced but refined toe peak. The shaping works with the specialized J-grind to make short shots around the green easy to hit, especially bunker shots and high flops. This wedge is also built to perform on mid- and full-wedge shots, with a pre-worn leading edge for turf interaction.
The “total spin machine” Jaws Raw family now includes a new C grind developed for skilled and precise players who manufacture multiple shots around the greens. The high-bounce X grind now extends to 56- and 54-degree wedges, and the new Z grind goes up to 62 degrees.
For the first time, Callaway adds tungsten technology to the sand and lob wedges for a weight-balanced club that offers both feel and control. The tungsten helps center the CG position for control, while the additional mass allows players to have a solid feel even when opening the face.
The Jaws Raw Black Plasma wedges now extend into left-handed options. It’s available in a full family from 52, 56 and 60 degrees in the S grind, and spanning each grind (S, Z, W and X) in the 60-degree to provide 17 loft and bounce combinations.
