By combining its A.I. face technology and a high-strength forged face, Callaway designed its Paradym models to amplify ball speed and feel in its most powerful forged irons.
Each face is uniquely optimized for more speed, higher launch and increased spin consistency, while its patented urethane microspheres deliver the soft feel and premium sound.
The all-new hollow body design features Speed Frame construction for added stiffness to the body and support for the high-strength Forged 455 Face Cup. This construction is the catalyst that stabilizes a thinner face for incredibly fast ball speeds.
There are two Paradym iron models available, each retailing for $200 per club or $1,400 for a standard seven-piece set.
The Paradym iron is designed for golfers who are looking for a players’ distance iron with a refined shape and premium forging. Up to 67 grams of external and internal tungsten is placed precisely to enhance launch conditions and improve speed on mis-hits. A pre-worn leading edge cuts through the turf more efficiently for even more forgiveness.
Paradym X is for players who are looking for an iron that’s incredibly long with premium forged feel. It features a thicker topline and forgiving sole and has up to 79 grams of precisely placed external and internal tungsten weights.
“We brought a lighter amount of the tungsten of the exterior so you can see it ... but underneath that, there’s a massive amount of tungsten doing the heavy lifting, pulling the (center of gravity) low – ‘thin to win’ exists for a reason,” said Scott Manwaring, senior R&D director for irons and hybrids. “Towards the toe, we want that CG right on the center line, away from the hosel, and you get the best balance of ball speed on your heel to toe shots when the CG is right in the center.”
