In adding to the Chrome Soft golf ball lineup – with a new model called Chrome Soft X LS – Callaway engineers are giving lower handicap players a low-spin option to consider.
The four-piece product features a large, SoftFast core that is designed to promote more ball speed through the bag. A high-speed, dual-mantle system, with a soft inner mantle and firm outer mantle, is intended to bolster distance. And the company says an “optimized” aerodynamic design reduces drag and helps to produce a more consistent, penetrating ball flight.
Then, there is the thin, urethane cover. Callaway technicians describe it as “extremely durable and resilient” and say it is capable of increasing ball speed and keeping spin low on full shots while maintaining high spin and low launch on shots hit around the green.
Among those tour professionals who have begun to use the Chrome Soft X LS are Marc Leishman, Akshay Bhatia and Wesley Bryan.
