A few years ago, Odyssey Golf introduced the Ten shaped putter head, and it soon became a popular option among tour professionals. They liked how the head on the mallet-style putter helped with their alignment and appreciated the forgiveness that its high moment of inertia provided.
Company engineers recently went back to some of those same golfers for help in improving that flat stick, and the result is a new line of Tens putters. These, too, are mallets, though with somewhat sleeker head shapes. They are also endowed with even higher MOI and offer improved alignment aids.
The family includes three 2-ball versions, one of which uses the Triple Track alignment system and another that features just a line on top of the putter head. Jon Rahm has put the 2-Ball Ten in his bag, and the word around the company’s California offices is that these are the best 2-ball Odyssey has ever made. In addition, Odyssey is offering a Lined Ten putter and also one it has dubbed Triple Track Ten.
While high MOI and the alignment aids are the biggest features of the Odyssey Tens story, it is worth noting that these putters employ a new version of the multi-material Stroke Lab shaft. Lighter and stiffer than the original, it is designed to be more stable – and to promote better tempo and more consistency.
Another feature is the Microhinge Star Insert, which is included to produce immediate forward roll for improved speed and control.
