Miura Golf spent five years developing its newly released Forged Wedge Series, melding the combination of forged feel with two unique sole grinds to benefit golfers in all turf conditions.
“The Forged Wedge Series enhances a golfer’s three most important senses,” said Bill Holowaty, COO of Miura Golf. “What a golfer sees, feels and hears brings clarity to each shot for the part of the game where strokes are saved and matches are won. Our newest wedge heads were carefully engineered to put the mass in the right places so golfers can get the optimum contact and control, allowing for easier turf travel through impact and more overall consistent ball flight.”
The new Y and C grind soles in the premium soft carbon steel forged wedges ($320) were designed to interact crisply with the turf to enhance contact and deliver consistency. The lie, loft and face progression aims to create a flawless flow from the hosel through the clubhead. The classic satin chrome forged wedge look was developed to promote short-game confidence for professionals as well as amateurs.
The Y grind – available in lofts of 46, 48, 50, 52, 54 and 56 degrees – is for golfers who have a neutral to steep angle of attack and tend to remove some turf through impact when playing a variety of shots around the green. It offers more control and more spin. The leading edge, high bounce and cambering of the Y grind aims to make it equally as easy to get out of bunkers, soft conditions or long rough.
The C grind – available in lofts of 54, 56, 58 and 60 degrees – is optimal for players who have a neutral to shallow attack angle in order to sweep the ball and pick it off the turf around the green. Additional heel and toe relief allows for more confident open-face shots and provides versatility to handle tight lies around the green.
