Endeavoring to make golf easier and more enjoyable through innovation, Ping’s new G730 irons promise to deliver more distance as well as consistency with a high-launching game-improvement design.
“The G730 irons are engineered for golfers who can benefit from more distance and a higher level of forgiveness and consistency to shoot lower scores,” said John K. Solheim, Ping CEO and president. “The new G730 brings them all that in an easy-to-hit, confidence-inspiring design. It’s the longest and most forgiving iron in our current lineup and is a great solution to help maximize the performance of a lot of golfers.”
With the primary objective of maximizing ball speed for golfers who struggle to make consistent face contact, the G730 irons ($185 per club with steel shaft; $200 per club graphite) were designed to ensure a higher launch to allow balls to fly farther and straighter. Ping engineers created a thinner and larger face to increase flexing and lower the center of gravity. Along with more offset in the cavity-back design, the tech enables more forgiveness on mis-hits.
The standard lofts are custom engineered – with power (stronger) and retro (weaker) options available in custom fitting – to ensure set configurations that maximize performance throughout the bag, with the four wedges (PW, UW, 50 and 56 degrees) in the set featuring machined faces and grooves for added control.
