Titleist enhances control with the next generation of soft-feel golf balls, with the new Tour Soft and TruFeel featuring advanced core and cover technology.
A faster, large core in the new Tour Soft delivers faster ball speed for more distance off the tee along with a soft feel and low spin on long-game shots. Its reformulated cover allows increased spin into the green for short-game control. The 346 quadrilateral dipyramid dimple design offers efficient aerodynamics and optimized ball flight for long distance.
“What makes new Tour Soft unique is the size of its core, which gives the ball even more of its fastest material and allows for exceptional speed in the long game,” said Mike Madson, vice president, Titleist golf ball R&D. “Then when you get into your scoring clubs, Tour Soft’s Fusablend cover over that large core gives golfers the spin needed to hit it closer to the hole.”
Advanced core and cover tech is at the heart as well of the new TruFeel, Titleist’s softest golf ball, designed to provide long distance and increased greenside spin and control.
A new TruTouch core combines long distance and fast ball speeds with a very soft feel off the clubface, while the thicker and softer 3.0 TruFlex cover provides increased greenside spin for more short-game control. A penetrating, low ball flight and long distance is generated from a unique, spherically tiled 376 tetrahedral dimple design.
“That softer, thicker cover is going to give golfers a little more greenside spin and performance,” Madson said. “The reformulated core gives players long distance and soft feel.”
The new Tour Soft ($39.99 per dozen) and TruFeel ($24.99) will be available this week. Tour Soft will come in white, yellow and green, with a pink model available in July. TruFeel originally will be white, and will follow that with yellow in March and matte red in May.
