Adidas Golf aims to redefine the golfers’ definition of “keeping it in play” with its Made To Be Remade line of sustainable and recyclable apparel.
Adhering to its mission to end plastic waste and produce sustainable items in nine out of every 10 Adidas articles of clothing by 2025, it has released new Made To Be Remade men’s products including a rib-collared polo, long-sleeve mock turtleneck and crewneck pullover sweater. Adidas defines articles as sustainable when they show environmental benefits versus conventional articles due to environmentally preferred materials used.
Made To Be Remade items, once you're done wearing them, can be sent back and Adidas will grind it, shred it and turn it into something new. The end of one product is the beginning of the next, with no compromise on performance.
The new items follow the spring launch of the Made To Be Remade polos.
“Our intention with the Made To Be Remade polo is to invite the wearer into this circular product process, from creation to re-creation,” said Jennie Ko, director of apparel design at Adidas Golf. “Golfers will still benefit by getting a product that performs on the course but will also have the opportunity to limit a product’s impact on the environment.”
The rib-collared polo offers a soft feel and easy range of motion with a jacquard knit pattern with fully looped yarns. It’s available in “pulse” blue or white for $85. The mock neck long sleeve (blue, $90) is made from the same material.
The crewneck pullover sweatshirt comes in the same blue and white patterned stripes for $130 and is made of Adidas Primeknit – a precision-engineered performance fabric that lets you swing and flex without restriction.
