Srixon partnered with Asics in 2019 to break into the North American golf footwear market, and now the collaboration has introduced a new model to its growing lineup of sporty comfort golf shoes.
The Gel-Kayano Ace looks very much like Asics’ familiar style of running shoe that inspired it, and the spikeless, waterproof shoe is aimed at delivering the same kind of comfort, flexibility and stability to golfers.
“Our partnership with Asics, one of the biggest global sports brands in performance footwear, has been a tremendous benefit for both our brands,” said Mike Powell, president of sales and marketing at Srixon/Asics. “By introducing the Gel-Kayano Ace, we’re excited to bring golfers the legendary Kayano comfort and performance on the golf course.”
The Gel-Kayano Ace features a flexible waterproof mesh lining to keep feet dry in the wettest conditions. Its FlyteFoam technology midsole is 55 percent lighter than industry standard, and its outsole bends independently for better cushioning and comfort while enhancing rotation during the swing. Additional ankle and tongue padding helps ensure a custom fit that can adapt to every move.
The same Asics Gel tech shock absorption under the heel that was introduced in the Gel-Course Ace and Glide models works in conjunction with a TPU heel cradle to provide increased traction and comfort while walking hilly terrain. Toe and lateral rubber wraps help maintain stability throughout the swing.
While it might look like a sporty running shoe, its flex-groove traction sole pattern places spikes and channels where they need to be for stability and traction while playing the course. It comes in four colors: black, gray, white/navy and white/lime.
