Callaway officials describe the new Jaws Full Toe Wedge as “an absolute spin machine” and say that is largely the result of four distinct technologies.
The Jaws grooves are the first of those. They not only are the most aggressive in golf, those technicians say, but also extend across the clubface to provide spin anywhere a player makes contact. In addition, company engineers increased the roughness of that surface by adding offset groove-in-groove technology and then combined it with a raw face in an effort to bolster both spin and control.
These wedges are also designed to be versatile, thanks to the Full Toe shape, which provides more face area with an enhanced toe peak, and a specialized C-grind. The idea is to make players feel comfortable hitting a variety of wedge shots from a range of lies.
And the Jaws toe pad is made to push the center of gravity higher, so golfers can find it easier to produce shots with a lower and more controlled trajectory. A new Variable Weight Port System also moves the CG away from the hosel, to improve contact and feel.
Available in raw face chrome and raw black finishes, the Jaws Full Toe Wedges come stock with a premium Lamkin UTX grip, and True Temper’s newest Dynamic Gold Spinner shaft in steel or a Project X Catalyst wedge shaft for those who prefer graphite.
