Nippon Shaft has introduced a new steel-and-graphite shaft designed specifically for use in hybrid clubs.
The N.S. Pro Modusᵌ Hybrid shaft is designed to bring the best characteristics of both materials to give hybrid users the solid feel and tighter dispersion associated with steel along with the easier launch, greater distance, higher trajectory and vibration-dampening qualities provided by graphite.
Put in simple terms the new shaft is manufactured with steel on the inside and graphite on the outside. Nippon uses a thin, 70-gram steel shaft as the core and wraps carbon (graphite) around using a special patented adhesive.
The bend of the shaft is based on tour-validated NS Pro Modusᵌ Tour 105 shaft, which is designed to promote an easy launch, mid-peak trajectory and spin.
“It truly is a hybrid shaft for hybrid clubs,” explained Hiro Fukuda, a sales and marketing spokesman for the company. “Most golfers use steel shafts in their irons and graphite shafts in their drivers and 3-woods. The NS Pro Modusᵌ Hybrid shaft is made specifically for hybrid clubs. We think the concept will make sense to golfers who will be convinced when they experience the performance of the Hybrid shaft.
“We think any current Modusᵌ user will quickly be familiar with the N.S. Pro Modusᵌ Hybrid shaft and that users of other shafts will immediately feel its improved quality.”
Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands and also through the company’s dedicated global club-fitter network.
