The NCGA celebrated its 2023-24 Players of the Year at the Annual Meeting at Poppy Hills Golf Course in December.
Those recognized for their achievements were AJ Fitzgerald (Men’s Player of the Year), Asterisk Talley (Women’s Player of the Year), Randy Haag (Senior Men’s Player of the Year), Lynne Cowan (Senior Women’s Player of the Year) and Terry Foreman (Super Senior Men’s Player of the Year).
For Haag and Cowan, who are both members of the NCGA Hall of Fame, it was yet another feather in their caps.
The title marked the 11th total NCGA Player of the Year title for Haag. The longtime Olympic Club member won a still-standing NCGA record six “regular” (age 55-under) titles in a span from 1993-2011, his last coming at the age of 52. His other Senior titles came in 2017, ’19, ’22 and ’23.
For Cowan, meanwhile, the occasion marked her record sixth Senior Women’s Player of the Year title.
