Head South and Make a Difference
Hillcrest Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole, par 71, 6,707-yard course nestled in the Southern Colorado Rockies. The course was established in 1969. Frank Hummel was the original architect in 1969 and then redesigned by Kevin Norby in 2014. Overlooking the historic and quaint western town of Durango, Hillcrest sits atop a scenic mesa. The course offers magnificent views of the La Plata Mountains and the Animas River Valley.
Many golfers enjoy the ability to walk this beautiful course, as the distance from tees to greens is relatively short. Those who prefer to ride in golf carts have the option to do so as well.
Hillcrest holds a variety of golf opportunities such as tournaments, leagues for both men & women (HWGA & HMGA), lessons, adult clinics, junior golf, and the Adaptive Golf Program.
“Inspiration. Vision. Dream”
Something that is unique about Hillcrest is they advocate that the game is for everyone. In association with Hillcrest, The Adaptive Golf Club (a Colorado Non-Profit Corporation (AGP)), provides a great outdoor experience for people with all types and levels of disabilities. AGP promotes independence through individual participation. Their goal is to take away barriers and make golf accessible to all. They use specialized mobility equipment and individualized instruction. Two pieces of adaptive equipment include the SoloRider Golf Cart and the ParaGolfer Wheelchair.
In addition to the golf course, Hillcrest has a full-size driving range, a putting green, and additional short-game practice facilities. The indoor golf simulator is loaded with 34 courses from around the world for winter golf. The simulator offers regular play, tournament modes, and practice options for those who wish to visit the driving range, take a lesson, or get fitted for clubs.
