Nine-time PGA Tour winner Brandt Snedeker will captain the U.S. Team in the 2026 Presidents Cup and 2006 U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy will lead the International Team, as announced in downtown Chicago on April 29. The event is slated to be contested on Medinah Country Club’s revamped Course #3 Sept. 24-27, 2026.
Snedeker, 44, has competed in one Presidents Cup and two Ryder Cups, including the infamous “Miracle at Medinah” in 2012. In recent years, he was a vice captain at the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal and will assume the same role in the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
“This is a great honor and a great privilege, but it comes with a lot of responsibility,” said Snedeker in an exclusive conversation with Chicago District Golfer. “It’s hitting home in terms of what a big deal this is and how much fun I’m going to have enjoying this process.”
Ogilvy, a 47-year-old Australian, had long been suspected of being the International choice given his golf course design firm’s work overhauling Course #3. He played in three straight Presidents Cups from 2007-11 and has served as a captain’s assistant in the four most recent iterations.
“It’s been an amazing journey through my assistant [positions] through this event,” Ogilvy told Chicago District Golfer. “To finally get a chance to be the captain and put my own flavor on our team, at a place where we’ve done so much work and I love so much like Medinah, is going to be really amazing.”
Hospitality packages are currently on sale at PresidentsCup.com, with general admission tickets slated to be made available later this year.
