Darrell West established MTCCD in 2011 while working at a public library to engage local youth in cycling and maintenance skills. Initially focused on inner city youth, MTCCD now also offers adult group rides and community health resources.
Hon. Rhonda Fields served on Colorado’s Criminal Juvenile Justice Commission and as State Senator for District 29. A strong victims’ rights advocate, she founded the Fields Wolfe Memorial Fund in memory of her son Javad and his fiancée Vivian.
Janet Rene Damon is an educator, librarian, conference presenter and literacy consultant with 20+ years of experience. As the founder of Afros and Books, she empowers families with diverse books and leads workshops on culturally responsive librarianship.
Arsema demonstrates passion for community and global issues, particularly in Ethiopia, her family’s homeland. She has completed 133 community service hours with the Children’s Literacy Center, the Tennyson Center, Convivir, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Kidane Mehret Church, and more.
Patrick Efferson is a young author, award winning essayist, Reagan Leadership scholar, the youngest Gary Foundation Piton Fellow, and a Denver Mayor’s Youth Commissioner. He balances a rigorous IB program at Northfield High School with sports and technical skill development.
