Back together in person for the first time since 2019, the BDC 2022 Opening Session brought the energy for those onsite, while still allowing for a virtual experience for others.
J.R. Martinez provided a dynamic keynote, all hinged around turning a tragedy into a positive. In 2003, while serving on a military patrol in Iraq, the Humvee he was driving hit a roadside bomb. He was trapped inside. What followed were 34 different surgeries, including multiple skin grafts and cosmetic surgeries. He spent three years in a hospital recovering.
