New York State Electric & Gas and Rochester Gas and Electric, subsidiaries of AVANGRID Inc., announced the appointment of Patricia Nilsen as president and CEO. Nilsen, who has been with the companies since 1992, is the first woman in the companies’ nearly 175-year histories to serve in this leadership position. She succeeds Carl Taylor, who retired June 30.

Janisse Quiñones, formerly senior vice president, gas engineering, has become senior vice president, electric operations. Christine Cowsert Chapman, formerly vice president, electric engineering, asset and regulatory, succeeds Quiñones as senior vice president, gas engineering. Martin Wyspianski, formerly senior director, electric and gas acquisition, succeeds Cowsert Chapman as vice president, electric engineering, asset and regulatory.
